Weight Loss and Healthy Living Tips
Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed when we think about the changes we'll need to make or the amount of weight we wish to lose. It's easy to become discouraged and begin to believe that real change isn't possible-especially when measurable results sometimes come with much difficulty and backsliding toward old habits is always so easy to do.Remember that wellness is a life-long journey.
Weekly Health & Well-being Tips
Fitness: After vigorous aerobic exercise it is important to take 10 minutes or so to cool down gradually. Do not stop abruptly. For example, after a long run or jog, walk around and keep moving, rather than just stopping. Cooling down properly (moving around) redistributes the blood that may have pooled in the extremities when you end your workout, and it prevents muscle stiffness because it allows the metabolic wastes to be worked out of your muscles.
WellBeing: Deep breathe! This can be done any time and any where. For example; when you are on hold on the phone, during a commercial or while waiting in those long lines at the checkouts. Instead of increasing your stress while stuck in heavy holiday traffic, taking a deep breath can relax you immediately especially if you have tired kids in the car!
Nutritional: Plan meals in advance. Planning meals will help you keep with your plan and avoid adding temptations. Write down your menu at the beginning of the week and stick with it.
Motivational: If you put yourself in a positive frame of mind, you can accomplish anything. If you can clearly see your goal, see that it’s within your grasp, there’s nothing stopping you. That’s why surrounding yourself with positive images and visual reminders can be just what the doctor ordered
